The first couple of episodes of Croatia Underrated podcast are online! After several months of preparations, the show is finally available and I plan to publish two episodes a month.
I’m still waiting for Croatia Underrated to get approved by some podcasting platforms, but you can already subscribe on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher, Deezer and some other services.
The first episodes will certainly give you a taste of what to expect. However, there is a saying in Croatia (fasten your seat belts because it sounds too cruel): “Prvi se mačići bacaju u vodu.” (“The firstborn kittens are meant to be be drowned”). It means that you simply can’t get it right from the start so I hope you’re going to forgive me for all the beginner’s mistakes I made. I’m pretty confident this will improve over time. I also don’t really know if the concept that I foresaw will turn out to be functional so everything is a subject to change. Of course, if there are any topics that you would like to hear about, please let me know.
Even with time, this podcast simply cannot be perfect so let’s get that straight right away. First of all, I’ve lived in Croatia my whole life so English is obviously not my mother tongue. I only hope that there will be someone out there who will find it genuine instead of irritating to hear my Croatian accent on audio.
Ever since I was a teenager, I wanted to have some kind of a silly radio show. Thanks to the podcasting world, this is now possible. Although, I’ll try to cut down on the silly part, and instead, do something useful and meaningful by covering the topics of overlooked Croatian tales and destinations.
Over the time, I plan to include interviews as well. It would be nice to hear some actual sounds of Croatia – Croatian music, that is, and I dream of guests that will perform for us. But one step at a time. For now, you’re stuck with me and I hope you will find some episodes that you might enjoy.
