ITB Berlin is one of the biggest tourism industry shows, and this year, I took an opportunity to visit in search of new connections and inspiration for the future development of Croatia Underrated.
As you might know, we are currently developing Croatia Underrated app for your unusual exploration of Croatia, and staying up to date to current travel trends and techologies is immensly important to us. I was very excited for this event, as it’s known to be trend-setting, and progressive. But, the atmosphere was clouded by the current state of the world. Once again, travel industry has proven to be the most delicate one, and the one that requires most flexibility. Just before ITB Berlin, the war in Iran started. A lot of people, especially those from Middle and Far East, couldn’t make it to the event which resulted with a strong feel of emptyness in the luxurious booths of Middleeastern countries. It was very emotional, and contemplative for me to find myself precisely in Berlin in times like these. Each corner of the city showcases the human need for freedom in every form and meaning of the word, and remembers what it’s like to loose it.
